A NEW centre showcasing exotic birds in Silloth has taken off attracting hundreds of visitors each week.
The Gincase visitor centre at Mawbray, Silloth, recently introduced a new bird-flight landscape designed to be a natural haven and home for different species of wildlife. There are about 50 different species of wildlife, including parrots, parakeets, cockatiels and many smaller varieties. Wildlife can explore the two ponds, waterfall and wide variety of trees and visitors are allowed to get close to the action. Val Nattrass, who owns the centre with husband John, said: “When we first opened we only expected to see five visitors a day, now we see a lot more than that.”
The Gincase has an art gallery for Cumbrian artists, craft hall and frestaurant.
