The way they were: Silloth punk rockers Rigsby, who are reforming for Solfest and Silloth Music and Beer Festival

Punk rockers, Rigsby, toured the country playing gigs in London, Leeds and on their home turf in Cumbria after forming in 1996.

The five piece enjoyed Radio 1 airplay with their single Dive Bomber and appeared at Newcastle's Sound City band showcase in 1998.

But now, due to local pressure, the group have reformed and are set to prove you’re never too old to rock according to bassist Dan Henderson.

“We split because our drummer moved from Silloth to Holland for work. We didn’t want to keep going without him. But then he moved back. Well, you know what it’s like in small towns, people were asking why we didn’t get back together,” said Dan, 38.

“So we did a gig recently for a laugh at Silloth Rugby Club and it went down a storm. We thought we’d give it a go and now we’re playing Solfest and the music and beer festival.”

Band members, which also include singer Terence Marshall, drummer Josh Docherty, plus guitarists Sean Keaveny and Kevin Kerr, are looking forward to being back on the scene.

“We got some really good national feedback when we first formed – but now we’re just in it for laughs. We’re all working and have kids and things like that now. But it’s been brilliant to get back together.”
